Job Description : Mission

• Perform technical tasks assigned by the Civil and Structural Lead, related to design, verification and checking of all steel structures, in order to operate in compliance with assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
• Ensure the interfaces with the other Discipline Specialists and coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company.
• Gather and provide record of experiences in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuous improvement.

Tasks

The Engineer executes the activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA / QC and HSE requirements.

Tasks include:

A-Development Technology know how and Commercial support

• Provide technical support.

B-Feasibility

• Provide technical support.

C-Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development

• Analyse and understand Tender documentation.
• Define list of activities and deliverables, coordinate activities in accordance with Project schedule.
• Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted.
• Implement the bidding methodologies, the design criteria and guidelines.
• Prepare tender document for steelworks market survey.
• Prepare material quantities and weights (MTOs) estimation.

D-Project Execution (Job progress and completion)

• Ensure the assigned goals achievement and the fulfillment of the project quality and contractual requirements. Take the necessary corrective actions together with the Discipline Lead to meet the assigned goals.
• Define list of activities and deliverables related to steelworks, set up with the Discipline Lead the time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements (including 3D activities).
• Prepare specification for purchase of steelworks material, providing technical support to procurement department in defining delivery lots during project execution.
• Prepare detailed BOQ for steelworks in accordance with Company procedure and maintain updated MTOs to prevent and/or mitigate quantity escalation.
• Prepare documentation for technical annexes for engineering activities subcontracting.
• Develop studies for structures configuration including details to be implemented.
• Ensure proper quality checks of all discipline project documents executed inside or outside the company, including Vendors documents.
• Track and report to Discipline Lead the scope of work changes updating manhour and cost estimates.
• Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction.
• Support Discipline Lead in technical interface with Client.
• Prepare together with Discipline Lead Technical Bid Evaluations.
• Ensure follow-up of steelwork manufacturer activities, approving shop drawings and monitoring delivery schedule in accordance with project needs.
