Job summary

A leading catering company in Dubai is seeking a Safety Assistant to support the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices. This role involves conducting inspections, assisting in compliance with safety standards, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Candidates should have NEBOSH certification and relevant experience in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience in large-scale industrial, catering, or aviation environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct random inspections and audits across EKFC premises.
• Monitor assigned departments’ OHS performance.
• Support the Safety Specialist in ensuring fire emergency systems are operational.
• Prepare daily shift reports detailing safety issues.
• Assist line managers in incident reporting and accident investigations.

Skills

In-depth knowledge of OHS legislation and industry best practices

Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)

Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address safety risks

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong planning, time management, and organisational skills

Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving

Education

NEBOSH International or General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certification
