Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting is seeking experienced Offshore Structural Designers with hands-on offshore oil & gas EPC project experience. You will support structural design, 3D modelling, and detailing activities using S3D (Smart 3D) and related tools for offshore platforms, topsides, and jackets.

The role requires strong proficiency in S3D, TEKLA, E3D, PDMS, or equivalent, and the ability to coordinate across disciplines to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of deliverables.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma with drafting focus.
• Extensive hands-on offshore structural design & drafting experience.
• Proven EPC offshore project experience (topsides, jackets).
• Strong S3D (Smart 3D) proficiency; knowledge of TEKLA, E3D, PDMS, or SACS.
• Ability to interpret drawings and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural GA, detailed, and fabrication drawings for offshore projects.
• Develop 3D structural models using S3D, TEKLA, E3D, PDMS or equivalent.
• Model and detail offshore platforms including topsides, jackets, decks.
• Update drawings with markups and design changes.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and other disciplines to ensure model accuracy.
• Participate in 3D model reviews, clash detection, and interdisciplinary design coordination.
• Prepare MTOs, BOMs, and other deliverables.
• Ensure drawings comply with specifications and standards.
• Support engineering deliverables for FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC.
• Maintain accuracy and timely delivery of outputs.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Offshore Structural Designers with proven hands-on experience in offshore oil & gas EPC projects, particularly offshore platforms, to support structural design, 3D modelling, and detailing activities. Candidates should have strong proficiency in S3D (Smart 3D) and relevant experience with offshore topsides and jacket structures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare structural arrangement, general arrangement (GA), detailed, and fabrication drawings for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Develop and maintain 3D structural models using S3D (Smart 3D), TEKLA, E3D, PDMS, or equivalent software.
• Perform structural modelling and design detailing for offshore platforms, including topsides, jackets, decks, and associated structures.
• Prepare and update structural drawings, incorporating engineering markups, design changes, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and other disciplines to ensure model accuracy and resolve design-related issues.
• Participate in 3D model reviews, clash detection, and interdisciplinary design coordination.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTOs), bills of materials (BOMs), and other structural design deliverables as required.
• Ensure structural drawings and models comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements.
• Support the preparation of engineering deliverables for FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC projects, as applicable.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of assigned structural design outputs.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, or an equivalent qualification, as required by the JD.
• Minimum years of relevant experience as specified in the JD, with substantial hands-on experience in offshore structural design and drafting.
• Proven experience in offshore oil & gas EPC projects, particularly offshore platforms.
• Strong proficiency in S3D (Smart 3D) for structural 3D modelling and design detailing.
• Additional knowledge of TEKLA, E3D, SACS, PDMS, or equivalent tools, as required by the JD.
• Good understanding of offshore structural components, including jackets, topsides, decks, modules, and associated steel structures.
• Experience in structural drawings, fabrication detailing, material take-offs, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, design markups, and project standards.
• Strong coordination, communication, and teamwork skills.
