Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai (RIT Dubai) invites applications for a Teaching Assistant in the NMD lab to support the New Media Design program across digital design, 3D modelling, animation, motion graphics, and UX/UI.

The role acts as a bridge between faculty and students, assisting with course materials, resources, and workshops, while providing technical and academic support to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design or closely related field.
• Knowledge of photo and video equipment operation desired.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
• Familiarity with UX/UI design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and basic web development (HTML, CSS, WordPress).
• Experience supporting students and faculty in creative disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day academic and administrative requirements of the NMD program.
• Assist faculty with course materials, digital resources, and presentations.
• Organize course content and resources across university learning platforms.
• Coordinate workshops, student presentations, critiques, and exhibitions.
• Maintain digital learning resources, software guides, and tutorials for students.
• Collaborate with departments and vendors for software, licenses, or tools.
• Assist with implementing departmental procedures and general admin tasks.
• Support faculty during classes, workshops, and practical sessions.
• Help prepare lectures, exercises, and supplementary learning resources.
• Provide technical demonstrations in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modelling, animation, and UX/UI workflows.
• Assist students with practical exercises and project development under faculty direction.
• Support pre-grading and critique preparation when requested.
