Job summary

Archirodon is seeking a Naval Architect with a strong background in design and operations of marine vessels. You will ensure class compliance, oversee dry-docking activities, and prepare scopes of work and budgets for vessel repairs.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and ship design tools. UAE-based opportunities offer competitive remuneration.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Naval Architect, familiar with design and operations of the yard.
• Proficiency in ship design software and engineering tools such as AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and ensures a valid class and other statutory certificates with emphasis on vessel integrity compliant to IACS rules, IMO regulations and local authority requirements.
• Dry-docking maintenance and repair of IACS vessels for periodical surveys.
• Prepares scope of works for vessels to be dry-docked, including costs and HSE/class requirements.
• Monitors vessels due for class surveys using IACS portals and internal equipment lists.
• Prepares budget cost estimations and comparative statements for dry-docking repairs.

Job Description

• Maintains and ensures a valid class and other statutory certificates with theemphasis to the integrity of the marine vessels compliant to IACS standardrules, IMO regulations, standard legislations from local authorities andproject-based specific requirements.
• Dry-docking maintenance and repair of IACS marine vessels required forperiodical bottom and class special surveys.
• Provides scope of works of the vessels which will be dry-docked.
• Initiates the MRF and include the scope of work showing the works that willbe done in shipyards with its related costs along with towing cost and cost ofHSE and class requirement.
• Monitors IACS marine vessels due for class surveys through the consolidatedlist of marine equipment received from P&ED or through IACS online serviceportals.
• Conducts onboard inspection on repair and maintenance of marine vessels inpreparation for the required projects.
• Prepares budget cost estimation for marine repair works.
• Prepares a comparative statement for the dry-docking repairs of marinevessels for third party repair yards.
• Maintains up-to-date electronic drawings and specifications of marine vessels in ARCO CFY’s central archive.
• Liaises with IACS class survey requirement for marine vessels engaged indifferent project sites.
• Prepares Equipment Transfer Inspection Report for the outgoing andincoming marine vessels, being sent to or received from the projects.
• Upgrades and equips the marine vessels compliance to IACS applicablerules, regulations and other special/ specific project requirements.
• Monitors and keeps inventory records, certificates up-to-date related tonavigational, lifesaving, fire-fighting appliances onboard on the marinevessels.
• Maintains and monitors the availability of stocked items in ARCO CFY storesrequired for future allocation of marine vessels in the projects.
• Assist in the conversion and modification of marine vessels for specificoperations as per project requirements.
• Prepares internal on-hire and off-hire survey of the company’s vessels duringthe mobilization and de-mobilization to and from company’s projects.
• Conducts stability study, where necessary for the safe operation of marinevessels.
• Ensures that the lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances onboard the marinevessels are in accordance with the safety plan, applicable codes andinternational regulations of the conventions.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experienceas Naval Architect, familiar with Design and Operations of the Yard.
• Proficiency in ship design softwares and engineering tools such as AutoCAD.
