Job description

MUREX Technical Specialist

Key role & Responsibilities:

• Interact with the users to gather core business requirements and or assist with the support of both UAT/DR. This includes the documentation of the requirements for socialization to the relevant parties.
• Design smart and scalable solutions following the banks development standards with a view of Front to Back solutions where industrialization of processes and maximization of STP is paramount where possible.
• Coordinate with other teams within Treasury & Capital Markets & Global Technology Operations as well as the respective counterparts on the business side providing strong support from the position of a partner.
• Provide 2nd line support and business & technical analysis services to Front, Middle and Back Office staff looking at and resolving application issues from a development and solution perspective.
• Provide accurate status updates to Senior Management and engage all relevant stakeholders in partnership.
• Mentor existing technical teams and take the lead on MUREX Development Projects where necessary aligning and working within the relevant project structure and reporting to the respective Senior Project Manager. This may or may not result in direct man management responsibilities

Competencies & Capabilities

Functional skills:

• Investment banking / Derivatives – Derivatives Front Office exposure highly desirable (Product Knowledge, Trade Capture, Value Added Risk generation). Trade and Settlement life cycle knowledge
• Middle and Back office processes (trade validation, fixing, settlements, accounting, confirmation, clearing)
• FO/BO exchange integration experience highly sort after but not mandatory
• SWIFT messaging and integration
• The ability to document clear and precise business requirements and be able to marry this to the appropriate technology solution and present this for approval to senior technology counterparts.
• Development Estimates and Resource Planning (inclusive of time management and budget ownership for development assignments)

Technical skills:

• Murex (MXG configurations/Payment/Publisher/Datamart)
• Murex (MXML, Tasks, Workflows, XSLT, Templates, MQ)
• Murex (MReport, Dynamic Table, Simulation, Datamart, Feeders, Optimization, Processing Script)
• Financial Markets Knowledge in particular derivatives processing Murex (Trade Workflow, Market Operations, UDF configurations)
• Murex (Payment queue, validation, workflow, configurations, STP) Optional
• Basic technical knowledge in Unix scripting and RDMS
• Knowledge Sybase and or Oracle Database platforms inclusive of the construction of complex database queries/updates.
• Programming (Java, C++, C Sharp, XML)

Experience:

• Motivated, passionate about technology and the Financial Markets
• Proactive, self starter, autonomous, good analytical skills
• Good team spirit Strong level of Oral and Written English
