Job description

The Midwife Advisor will serve as a clinical and educational resource for patients and staff, supporting the development and delivery of high-quality maternity care pathways. This role involves patient education, operational support, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional standards of care.

Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

  • Educate patients on maternity pathways and available resources at KCHD.
  • Support the Director of Clinical Nursing Operations (DCNO) and maintain the maternity tracker.
  • Develop care pathways and educational programs for patients and their families.
  • Facilitate midwifery-led classes, follow-up visits, and act as liaison between patients and care providers.
  • Collect data, track outcomes, and prepare reports for the Maternity Review Committee.
  • Support Baby Friendly Hospital Accreditation initiatives and marketing events.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the Women’s Centre, including high-risk cases.
  • Engage in business planning and infection prevention strategies.
  • Provide accurate information on maternity packages and assist in revenue tracking.

Education & Professional Development

  • Support staff development and clinical training opportunities.
  • Deliver and evaluate maternity care programs across multidisciplinary teams.

Operational Delivery

  • Coordinate and develop quality maternity services with leadership and staff.
