Job summary

Egis is building its data centre capability across the UAE and wider MESA region. We are seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical direction of that emerging practice—setting standards, leading major bids, and acting as our senior technical authority on mission-critical work.

Reporting to the Regional Director - MEP, this is a leadership role with real scope to shape a practice from the ground up, backed by the reach and resources of a global consultancy.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of MEP engineering experience in data centre or mission-critical environments.
• Experience at Technical Director or Associate Director level.
• Expertise in data centre MEP/ELV systems: HV/LV, generators, UPS, precision cooling, EPMS, DCIM, ICT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and EN 50600 requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness across fee negotiation, scope definition, and risk management.
• Degree-qualified with Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
• GCC experience preferred; UAE track record a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and sign-off authority across data centre projects in the region
• Define and maintain MEP/ELV design standards and delivery frameworks for mission-critical work
• Lead technical input on major bids and proposals across the MESA region
• Build and mentor a specialist data centre team within a 400+ strong MEP/ELV practice
• Engage with clients, hyperscalers, EPCs, and authorities at Director level
• Drive innovation across BIM, parametric design, and AI-assisted workflows
• Represent Egis externally as the data centre practice establishes its market presence

What You'll Do

• Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and EN 50600 requirements
• Strong commercial awareness across fee negotiation, scope definition, and risk management
• Degree‑qualified with Chartered Engineer status (CEng or regional equivalent) required
• GCC experience preferred; UAE track record a strong advantage
