Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor - Rotating in Habshan, Abu Dhabi, to manage site activities, planning, manpower/tool assignment and technical support to meet contractual requirements. The role requires extensive rotating equipment knowledge and a track record in oil and gas projects.

The successful candidate will coordinate field services with project managers located in the offices, assist startup during commissioning, and ensure safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas industry.
• Familiarity with ADNOC standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and approve construction activities and coordinate various project construction aspects, including inspections, material submissions, and drawings from contractors.
• Organize, coordinate and supervise construction activities per schedules, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.
• Resolve difficulties in discussion with contractor representatives and, if needed, with the Construction Superintendent.
• Assist Construction Warehouse Organization with inspection of materials and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Handle all Mechanical Construction activities including site investigations and surveys.
• Collaborate with client Construction Supervisors (Electrical, Architectural, Instrument) for alignment.
• Report to the client Senior Construction Supervisor on site events, progress and recommendations.
• Manage deliverables like scope write-ups, isometrics, piping plans, tie-ins, photos, and BOMs.
• Coordinate with client and construction personnel to reflect input and contract requirements.

The key objectives for this role are:

• As a Rotating Equipment Supervisor, you will be an expert in rotating equipment, focused on site activities management such as planning, manpower resources/tools assignment and technical assistance to complete the work scope according to the contractual requirements
• Prepare field services jobs and interventions with the project managers based in the offices
• Assist Start-up Engineer during the commissioning phase ensuring proper and safe operation of the machine

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required
  Implement Wood standardized construction work processes, procedures, manuals and systems and execute the systems of control for each construction activities in his area
• Organize, coordinate and supervise construction activities in accordance with construction schedules, monitor and review so as to complete the works on time and within budget
• Resolve difficulties and problems in discussion with contractor representatives and, if necessary, also with the Construction Superintendent
• Assist, as required, the Construction Warehouse Organization with inspection of material and equipment received and the preventive maintenance of equipment stored
• Handle all aspects of Mechanical Construction activities including site investigations, site surveys and
• Work closely with other client Construction Supervisors (Elect./ Arch / Instrument)
• Report to client Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at the site, progress reporting, trends and recommendation for improvement
• Manage the completion of all required deliverables including scope of work write-ups, isometrics, piping plans, tie-in lists, construction photos, and bills of materials
• Coordinate with client and construction personnel to ensure the client's input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements
