Mechanical Supervisor - Nuclear Facilities

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract: Initial 4-month contract, renewable

Visa/Sponsorship: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UAE

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and coordinate mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair activities within nuclear facilities. The role ensures all work complies with nuclear safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise mechanical teams executing maintenance, shutdown, and project works in nuclear environments
  • Ensure all mechanical activities comply with nuclear safety procedures, radiological controls, and project-specific policies
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and technical documents
  • Lead toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and daily coordination meetings
  • Monitor work progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure schedule adherence
  • Ensure proper use of tools, PPE, and mechanical equipment
  • Prepare daily reports and workforce allocations
  • Interface with QA/QC, planning, and nuclear operations teams
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in industrial environments
  • Mandatory: Experience in the nuclear industry (operational, shutdown, or maintenance)
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety culture and compliance standards (e.g., INPO, ENSREG, WANO principles)
  • Mechanical trade certification preferred
  • Ability to obtain and pass nuclear site clearances
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Standard: 8 hours per day, 6 days per week
  • Pre-outage: 40-48 hours per week (as required)
  • Outage period: Up to 72 hours per week, with overtime applicable after 48 hours
