Company Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Procurement Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE.

Role Summary :

The Mechanical Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for mechanical equipment and materials used in Oil and Gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gas compressors, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems, with a focus on the design, installation, and maintenance of such systems for large-scale projects in the Oil & Gas industry.

What you will need to do :

  • Lead the procurement of mechanical equipment, materials, and services for Oil and Gas operations.
  • Review technical specifications and procurement documents for compliance with requirements.
  • Release RFQs and organize the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Define procurement risk and mitigation plans to secure material and equipment supply, ensuring continuity in project execution.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Be responsible for cost control and ensuring procurement activities stay within budget and meet cost reduction targets.
  • Review and approve purchase orders and contracts for cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align procurement with project timelines.
  • Provide technical and procurement expertise during project design and engineering phases.
  • Maintain records and reports of procurement activities, including supplier communications, contracts, delivery, cost analysis, and forecasts.
  • Ensure procurement complies with local, regional, and international laws and standards such as ASME, API, and ASTM.

What you will need to have :

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical procurement within the Oil and Gas industry is mandatory.
  • EPC experience is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, gas dehydration units, desalters, separators, vessels, chemical injection systems, and flare systems.
  • Understanding of market dynamics, contract management, and effective communication with vendors and suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and materials used in Oil and Gas.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Supply Chain Management Certification such as APICS or CIPS is a plus.

  • Has strong communication skills to coordinate with vendors, suppliers, project managers, and internal teams.
  • Can clearly articulate requirements, negotiate terms, and ensure alignment among all parties for smooth operations.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills to find creative solutions, make informed decisions, and keep projects on track.
