Job summary

A design and engineering consultancy in Dubai is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their team. This role requires a strong background in supervising construction of villas and residential apartment projects. Successful candidates will possess relevant experience, communication skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints. The position is available for immediate joining and offers an initial 12-month contract.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience in construction supervision of villa and residential apartment projects.
  • Must have worked in a recognised design consultant or PMC company.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor.
  • Review submitted shop drawings against contract specifications.
  • Monitor quality of works and assess safety at site.
  • Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work.

Job description

Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced, Mechanical Inspector to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Mechanical Inspector on new build villa's, mansions and residential apartment projects in the UAE and ideally have worked for a recognised design or engineering consultancy company previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 12 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
  • Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action.
  • Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
  • Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
  • Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
  • Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines.
  • Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise.
Mechanical Inspector Experience
  • Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience in construction supervision of villa and residential apartment projects.
  • Must have worked in a recognised design consultant or PMC company previously.
  • Good written and oral communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
