Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a STP Station project in Ras Al Khaimah. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience in mechanical supervision, particularly in STP and lifting stations. Stantec is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer for a STP Station project in Ras Al Khaima.

Stantec is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring the Mechanical works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
  • Reviewing, approving and processing Mechanical technical submittals.
  • Prepare preliminary answers for RFIs related to Mechanical works.
  • Coordinating and supervising the pre-installation work of selected Mechanical activities and operations.
  • Reviewing contractors Mechanical change order proposals and preparing technical recommendations to Senior Mechanical Engineer.
  • Liaison with the necessary sub-consultants.
  • Assist with review off contractors claims related to Mechanical works and preparing technical recommendations for claims.
  • Reviewing the contractors project record documents relevant to their discipline.
  • Assisting with the inspection or inspecting of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the Mechanical works.
Qualifications

The Mechanical Engineer, as a vital member of the supervision team, must possess a degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university with 10 years dedicated to supervision work in a similar projects capacity overseeing mechanical works. Must have experience in STP and lifting stations.

Candidate should exhibit substantial expertise in the design, construction, and supervision of mechanical works, particularly related to pumping stations and force main infrastructure.

Proficiency in surge analysis and related site tasks and the engineer must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage with the public and coordinate effectively.

Competence in drafting software, Microsoft Office applications, and specialized tools such as WANDA or Water Hammers, coupled with excellent communication abilities in English and decision-making capacity, is required.

A valid UAE driving license is also necessary for this role.
