Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Construction Supervision in Dubai. The ideal candidate will oversee site supervision, design review, and project monitoring for large-scale infrastructure projects. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with Dubai's authority requirements are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience in site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring, and testing & commissioning for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Fully conversant with the authority requirements (DEWA/DM/Civil Defense) and processes in the emirate of Dubai.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineer (Construction Supervision)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, execute and manage site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring and testing & commissioning.
  • Advise Project Management Team and the Client on technical matters related to procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical equipment.
  • Attend all tests in factories and at site required for successful completion of the project, and hand over assets to the relevant authorities.
  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, and monitor progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
  • Identify and document changes in scope. Assist in determining procurement work scope, schedules, and budgets for assigned project buy‑outs, monitoring progress to maintain those procurements.
  • Interface with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process. Coordinate the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers.
  • Coordinate the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
  • Assist in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
  • Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
  • Expedite distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
  • Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring and testing & commissioning for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Prior experience in construction supervision of pumping stations, firefighting systems, chilled water network and utilities for projects is a must.
  • Fully conversant with the authority requirements (DEWA/DM/Civil Defense) and processes in the emirate of Dubai.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Desired Skills
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations is preferred.
