Job summary

A global engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Construction Work Pack Engineer to join their team in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves preparing detailed mechanical construction workpacks, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements, and coordinating with various teams to support project execution. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 8-10+ years of experience in mechanical construction within oil & gas or EPC projects. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in mechanical construction within oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC projects.
• Experience preparing construction work packs or executing mechanical construction.
• Familiarity with large field facilities, process plants, pipelines, or brownfield upgrades advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical construction workpacks with all necessary documentation.
• Conduct job walks to validate constructability and identify field constraints.
• Act as the interface between construction, engineering, and other disciplines.
• Embed safety requirements within every workpack and support field safety teams.
• Provide technical support during field execution and resolve related issues.

Skills

Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs

Strong understanding of welding processes

Excellent problem-solving

Strong communication and coordination skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline
