Mechanical Area Coordinator - Nuclear Facilities

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract: Initial 4-month contract

Visa/Sponsorship: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UAE

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Area Coordinator to manage mechanical work fronts within nuclear plant areas. The role ensures resources, permits, and safety requirements are properly coordinated, supporting supervisors and craft teams during maintenance, modifications, and outages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as area focal point for mechanical activities across shifts
  • Coordinate work packs, permits, isolations, and access with nuclear operations
  • Ensure compliance with radiological protection and controlled area requirements
  • Track progress of mechanical maintenance, modifications, and outage tasks
  • Support supervisors and craft teams with technical clarifications
  • Escalate delays, risks, or safety concerns promptly
  • Liaise with execution teams and client engineering on work progress and requirements
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years' mechanical coordination experience
  • Mandatory: Experience in nuclear outages/shutdowns
  • Strong understanding of nuclear site permitting, radiological controls, and controlled zones
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts and manage competing priorities
Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Standard: 8 hours per day, 6 days per week
  • Pre-outage: 40-48 hours per week (as required)
  • Outage period: Up to 72 hours per week, with overtime applicable after 48 hours
