GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi seeks an outstanding High School Mathematics Teacher to join our team from August 2027. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop a lifelong appreciation for Mathematics within our IB/American curriculum context.

You will plan engaging lessons, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, assess progress, collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, and participate in co-curricular programs, contributing to our vibrant learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state teaching license or equivalent) in Mathematics.
• Proven experience teaching High School Mathematics, ideally within an American or IB curriculum context.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and reflective approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and inquiry-based learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
• Assess student progress through varied, authentic methods and provide timely feedback.

Skills Description

Successful Candidate

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state teaching license or equivalent) in Mathematics.
• Have proven experience teaching High School Mathematics, ideally within an American or IB curriculum context (preferred but not essential).
• Demonstrate ability to inspire, motivate, and support students through engaging, purposeful learning.
• Build strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and reflective approach.
