Job summary

NMC Healthcare seeks an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist to provide in-patient and out-patient maternal-fetal medicine care in Abu Dhabi. You will perform obstetric and gynecologic surgeries, cover the delivery room, and interpret obstetric ultrasound in a high‑volume setting.

Applicants must hold a DOH license, postgraduate qualifications in MFM, and 5+ years’ exclusive obstetrics/gynecology practice, with excellent English and medical ethics knowledge. Based in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
• Thorough knowledge of medical ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric and gynecologic care in in-patient and out-patient settings.
• Perform surgical care in OR and OPD for gynecologic and obstetric conditions.
• Cover the Delivery Room: admit, review history, plan, and perform deliveries, interact with midwives.
• Respond to emergencies and provide consultations through the Emergency Service.
• Offer outpatient care in Clinics as assigned by the head of department.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations.
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate action.
• Provide formal and informal consultations from physicians in other departments.
• Attend committee meetings as assigned by the Head of department.
• Communicate with patients' families about condition changes and plans.

Job description

Carries out obstetrician and gynecologic health care, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care by.

Responsibilities

• Will perform professional duties as an Maternal and Fetal Medicine
• Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
• Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
• Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
• Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
• Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
• Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
• Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
• Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
• Interacting with patients' families to keep them informed of the patient's condition, changes in condition and plans.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
• Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in procuring a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
• Five or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
• Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine
• An excellent command of written and oral English.
• Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
