Caviar Careers is seeking a Master Cutter in Abu Dhabi to oversee fabric cutting, pattern making, and garment construction for a tailoring workshop. You will translate design concepts into precise patterns and guide tailors to ensure high-quality output.

Applicants should have 7+ years in tailoring, with at least 3 years in a senior cutter role, and strong English skills (Arabic a plus). UAE relocation is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in tailoring with 3+ years as Master Cutter.
• Expert in pattern making, garment construction and fabric cutting.
• English communication; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design briefs and develop patterns with designers or Head Tailor.
• Draft, adapt, and create master patterns for sizes.
• Accurately mark fabrics to maximize material use and minimize waste.
• Cut fabric pieces precisely using proper tools and techniques.
• Convert design concepts into workable garment components.
• Indicate stitching details like pleats, pockets, buttons and seams.
• Oversee sewing to ensure quality output and timelines.
• Guide tailors on stitching techniques and garment construction.
• Ensure finished pieces meet quality and design standards.
• Maintain organized workflow and production timelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION

Master Cutter (In Tailoring Workshop)

LOCATION

Abu Dhabi, UAE

The client will apply for the work visa and provide relocation if not local.

Job Purpose

The Master Cutter is responsible for overseeing all fabric cutting and pattern-making operations, ensuring precision, efficiency, and alignment with design specifications. This role plays a critical part in transforming design concepts into high-quality garments by creating accurate patterns, optimizing fabric usage, and supporting the tailoring team to deliver exceptional finished products.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or Diploma in Tailoring or related field
• Formal training in garment construction, pattern making, or fashion design is an advantage

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Minimum 7 years of experience in tailoring, with at least 3 years in a Master Cutter or similar senior role
• Strong expertise in pattern making, garment construction, and fabric cutting techniques
• Excellent knowledge of various fabric types and their handling requirements
• Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into accurate patterns
• Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cutting
• Creative mindset with a good sense of fashion and garment structure
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Team player with the ability to guide and support tailors
