Qualifications

• Diploma or recognized qualification in Massage Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a physiotherapy clinic, rehabilitation center, hospital, or wellness setting preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, contraindications, and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Basic CPR/BLS certification is an advantage where required by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Assess soft-tissue and muscular conditions within scope of practice.
• Provide therapeutic, remedial, and relaxation massage as appropriate.
• Perform massage techniques to reduce muscle tension and stiffness.
• Support physiotherapists with patient rehabilitation programs.
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Apply massage techniques based on patient condition and treatment plan.
• Monitor response to treatment and report concerns to supervising physio.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
• Educate patients on basic stretching, posture, and self-care techniques.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic treatment environment.
• Follow infection-control, health, safety, and facility policies.
• Respect confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Work collaboratively with physiotherapists and other healthcare team.
• Refer patients to physiotherapist or physician if outside scope.

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage treatments under the guidance of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will assist in reducing muscle tension, improving circulation and flexibility, relieving pain, and supporting patients' overall rehabilitation and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess clients' or patients' soft-tissue and muscular conditions within the scope of practice.
• Provide therapeutic, remedial, and relaxation massage as appropriate.
• Perform massage techniques to help reduce muscle tension, stiffness, and discomfort.
• Support physiotherapists with patient rehabilitation programs when appropriate.
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the session.
• Apply appropriate massage techniques based on the patient's condition and treatment plan.
• Monitor patients' response to treatment and report any concerns or unusual symptoms to the physiotherapist or supervising healthcare professional.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
• Educate patients on basic stretching, posture, relaxation, and self-care techniques when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic treatment environment.
• Follow infection-control, health, safety, and facility policies.
• Respect patient confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
• Work collaboratively with physiotherapists and other members of the healthcare team.
• Refer patients to the physiotherapist or physician when symptoms are outside the massage therapist's scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Diploma or recognized qualification in Massage Therapy / Therapeutic Massage from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience in a physiotherapy clinic, rehabilitation center, hospital, wellness center, or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, contraindications, and basic musculoskeletal conditions.
• Basic CPR/BLS certification is an advantage where required by the employer.
