Job summary

Want More in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will perform masonry tasks such as laying bricks, blocks, stone and mortar according to project plans. This position is open to foreigners with minimal experience, and the salary offered is 1200 AED per month.

Applicants should read construction plans, use basic hand tools, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Medical insurance and paid leave are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of masonry experience preferred (we are willing to consider applicants with minimal work experience).
• Knowledge of basic hand tools related to masonry.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape or ruler.
• Mix ingredients to create mortars or plasters used for construction.
• Cut bricks or blocks to fit in specified area using hand tools such as trowels or chisels.
• Spread mortar on bedding layers and lay blocks on mortar bed according to construction plans.
• Place spacers between bricks/blocks according to plans.
• Fill joints between bricks/blocks with grout/mortar using trowel/pointing iron.
• Smooth out excess mortar from joints between bricks/blocks with a trowel/pointing iron.
• Install anchors in brickwork for attaching fixtures such as doorframes and window frames.
