Job Responsibilities
- Cut floor tiles and form them to fit around obstacles, in limited corners and tight spaces using power and hand tools.
- Prepare floor beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar with devices such as screeds, brushes and trowels.
- Align ceramic tiles with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure precise patterns.
- Cut, install, grout and surface granite and marble with consistent precision throughout the installation process.
- Prepare surfaces for tiling with waterproofing product or lath and by cleaning the surfaces correctly.
- Develop wall and floor layouts by laying and establishing mosaic ceramic tiles in kitchens, washrooms and living spaces.
- Set floor tiles into place carefully using appropriate tools to adhere tiles to the base without damage.
- Comply with plans precisely and mark and measure areas to be tiled to determine how to complete the jobs.
- Report to the Site Task Supervisor / Proprietor - Fit Out Company.
