Senior Shipping Lawyer

We are looking for a Senior Shipping Lawyer for our well-established practice here in the UAE. This role will include preparing legal opinions, researching the law, supporting other members of the department and client care. The role reports directly into the Partner heading the department.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience :

  • Supporting other members of the department in their work;
  • Representing clients in court or other legal proceedings;
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, lease agreements, and other documents related to the shipping industry;
  • Advising clients on various legal matters;
  • Liaising with external legal and regulatory bodies;
  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the relevant laws and regulations;
  • Developing and implementing strategies for resolving legal disputes;
  • Keeping up to date with developments in the shipping industry;
  • Writing articles and reports on legal matters for publication in legal journals;
  • Keeping client files up to date and ensuring that all related documents are stored appropriately.
