Atlantis Dubai is seeking a motivated and passionateMarine Mammal Specialist 4to join our Marine Mammal Operations team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals beginning their professional journey in marine mammal care, training, and welfare. Under the guidance of experienced senior staff, the Specialist 4 contributes to all aspects of daily husbandry, training support, habitat maintenance, and guest engagement while upholding the highest standards of animal welfare in alignment with the Five Domains model.
This position provides hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to advanced operant conditioning within a world-class interactive marine mammal facility. The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions.
Conduct daily observations to assess animal behaviour, welfare, and environmental conditions.
Assistwith diet preparation, portioning, and proper food handling.
Support administration of medications and vitamins when approved by management.
Maintainclean, sanitary, and safe habitats and work areas according to established protocols.
Learn and apply operant conditioning principles and positive reinforcement techniques.
Support the conditioning and maintenance of trained behaviours under supervision.
Participate in husbandry behaviours, enrichment delivery, and progression of foundational training goals.
Guest Programs & Public Presentations
Engage in interactive guest programs, educational sessions, and presentations.
Deliveraccurate, engaging conservation messaging and ensure exceptional guest service.
Complete all pre- and post-program checks tomaintainsafety and program quality.
Record Keeping & Documentation
Accurately record animal health, behaviour, and husbandry data using digital systems.
Support departmental documentation to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Teamwork & Professionalism
Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful team environment.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, accept feedback constructively, and actively contribute to team success.
Promote sustainability by minimizing waste and supporting resource efficiency.
Model strong attention to detail, initiative, and reliability in all duties.
Operational Expectations
Follow SOPs, safety protocols, and departmental guidelines consistently.
Adapt to scheduling needs including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Successfully pass the annual swim test andmaintainphysical readiness for the role.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalentrequired.
Prior internships or experience in marine mammal care strongly preferred but notrequired.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office; strong written and spoken English.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Successful completion of annual swim test.
Additionallanguages considered an asset.
