Job summary

Sharjah Maritime Academy is seeking an experienced educator to assist the Head of STCW Programs and deliver a range of maritime electrical and automation courses. The role requires updating knowledge regularly and employing innovative teaching methods to support cadets preparing for CoC examinations.

You will conduct lectures, seminars, and assessments, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in examinations.

Qualifications

STCW Class 1 CoC or ETO CoC required.
BSc in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Master's degree is an added advantage.
Teaching qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist Head of STCW Programs as required.
Teach subjects including Marine Propulsion Electrical Systems, High Voltage Systems, Marine Automation Systems, Marine Electronics and related topics.
Use appropriate and innovative pedagogy; deliver lectures and lead seminars.
Participate in examinations, set papers, marking schemes and agree marks with staff.
Update discipline knowledge and conduct research-informed teaching; align with regulators and STCW code.
Provide structured preparation for cadets undertaking CoC oral and written examinations; deliver mock orals and tutorials.
Travel as required and occasionally work outside standard hours as in the contract.
