Job Description

To manage and grow client business for the assigned portfolio in the Investment Banking Government, Sovereigns & Public Sector; improve service quality levels and supervise subordinates’ day‑to‑day activities and client interactions to ensure the team’s objectives are constantly met and its revenue targets achieved, while maintaining client satisfaction and portfolio credit quality.

Key Accountabilities
  • Strategic Contribution: Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans; develop the team’s strategy and business plan to increase the Bank’s share of target clients’ wallet; keep close interaction with Product teams and stakeholders to maximise opportunities and streamline execution of deals and strategies.
  • People Management: Contribute to talent development initiatives; act as a role model and drive adherence to organisational values and ethics, fostering a value‑driven culture.
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning: Manage P&L responsibility of the assigned portfolio, achieving targets within defined budget levels.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures: Manage and ensure effective implementation of the CIB functional policies, procedures and controls, fulfilling all procedural/legislative requirements while delivering a quality, cost‑effective service.
  • Client and Market Analysis: Participate in financial analysis of clients and their respective industries/markets to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  • Client Relationship Management: Originate new business opportunities with target government sector clients; develop and execute Term Sheets, Information Memoranda, financial modelling, mandate letters; examine and resolve credit, market and operational risk aspects of transactions; pitch, review, negotiate and conclude deals; motivate, develop and coach team members; maintain credit quality; achieve financial performance targets; identify and develop cross‑selling opportunities; ensure Account Plans, client files/documents, credit reviews, audit, training and process KPIs are maintained.
  • Day‑to‑Day Activities: Assist the Sector Head in transactional activities via subordinates; ensure the team manages KYC and compliance requirements consistent with the Bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.
  • MIS and Reports: Review and analyse financial statements, MIS and reports to track performance vs. budgets.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline; Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years of experience in Investment Banking.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Knowledge of the banking sector, FAB’s products and business strategies; ability to work under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
