The Role
We are seeking a hands-on, field-oriented Manager – Training & Development to lead the organization's end-to-end Training, Learning & Development function.
The role will own Training Needs Assessments (TNA), Skill Assessment Drives, training plans and calendars, customized program design and delivery, onboarding, employee development, training effectiveness, reporting, and Community Development & Welfare Training Initiatives.
This is primarily a field-oriented role, involving regular visits to project sites and labour camps to observe employees in real working environments, identify technical and behavioral skill gaps, and deliver in-person and online training. The role will support technicians, riggers, field teams, supervisors, operational, corporate and other technical/non-technical employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular TNA and Skill Assessment Drives across departments, projects, sites and labour camps to identify competency, technical, behavioral, safety and development gaps.
- Develop and implement prioritized training and employee development plans aligned with organizational objectives and identified skill gaps.
- Develop and maintain annual, quarterly and monthly training calendars, covering customized, standard, mandatory and refresher programs.
- Observe employees on the job to assess competencies, identify performance gaps and determine practical training interventions.
- Design, develop and personally deliver customized in-house and online training programs for different employee groups.
- Understand technical/frontline roles, including technicians, riggers and field personnel, and deliver or facilitate relevant technical and operational training.
- Deliver training covering technical awareness, SOPs, operational processes, workplace practices, soft skills, customer service, communication, compliance and other business requirements.
- Coordinate trainers, SMEs, venues, online platforms, training materials, vendors and participant schedules to ensure timely and effective delivery with minimal operational disruption.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external training providers, vendors and certification bodies to ensure training quality and relevance.
- Conduct and manage new-hire orientation, induction and policy-awareness programs to support effective onboarding.
- Conduct pre/post-training assessments and evaluate effectiveness through feedback, participation, knowledge retention, field observations, performance improvement and operational KPIs.
- Conduct follow-up workplace observations and arrange refresher, corrective or development training based on results.
- Prepare training dashboards, management reports and presentations, analyze outcomes and recommend appropriate follow-up and employee-development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance, assessments, certifications, completion records and related documentation.
- Monitor training budgets, resources, costs and utilization to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Continuously improve training content and methodologies while supporting employee development plans, competency development and career progression tools.
- Lead Community Development & Welfare Training Initiatives, including planning and delivery of free vocational, professional and employability-focused programs aimed at developing skills, promoting self-reliance and improving employment opportunities.
- Promote a continuous-learning, safety-conscious and performance-driven culture across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Management, Education, Engineering or a related discipline; Master's is an advantage.
- Ideally 5–8 years' experience in Training & Development, L&D, Technical Training, Employee Development or a related function.
- Proven hands-on experience in TNA, skill assessments, training planning, customized program design, personal training delivery and effectiveness evaluation.
- Ability to understand and train technical/frontline workforces, particularly technicians, riggers and field teams.
- Exposure to telecom, technical services, engineering, construction, infrastructure, managed services, manpower outsourcing, facilities or other field-intensive industries is strongly preferred.
- Strong in-person and online facilitation, presentation and public-speaking skills, engaging frontline through management-level audiences.
- Experience in employee development, onboarding/orientation and competency development is preferred.
- Experience supporting vocational, community-development, welfare or employability training initiatives is advantageous.
- Hindi is mandatory, with strong English communication skills; Arabic or other languages are advantageous.
- Strong analytical and management-reporting capability, including Excel and PowerPoint; LMS/digital learning experience is advantageous.
- Strong planning, organization, communication, stakeholder and vendor-management skills.
- Must be energetic, highly mobile, proactive and results-oriented, and comfortable spending significant time at project sites and labour camps.
- Able to independently manage the complete training lifecycle across multiple employee groups and locations.
- Candidates currently based in UAE or India are acceptable.
- Willing to travel regularly across project sites, labour camps and operational locations throughout the UAE.
