Job summary

A leading industrial organization in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Project Planning Manager. The role involves leading project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and budgeting to support project teams. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and have a minimum of 12 years experience, particularly in the Oil and Gas sector. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong managerial skills, with hands-on experience in project management, and be familiar with industry standards and practices. Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Professional certificate like PMP, PMI-SP is preferred.
  • 12 years of experience in the Planning & Cost Control function of a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • 5-6 years in managerial capacity with hands on experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, budgeting and cost control functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project planning, scheduling, cost estimating & budgeting.
  • Manage projects planning, scheduling, cost control, value assurance and scope management activities.
  • Review and challenge schedule and cost details submitted by Contractors & Consultants.
  • Ensure desired accuracy levels of project cost estimates and schedules.
  • Review and advise on projects planning, monitoring and controls provisions of contractual documents.
  • Review progress information and suggest appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate project cash planning and management.
  • Manage the maintenance of project planning and cost data.
  • Manage projects reporting, including performance versus KPIs.
Job description
Job Purpose

Lead and manage the project planning, scheduling, cost estimating & budgeting, and provide input for developing execution strategies & plans to support the project teams in the project management for timely completion within approved budgets and in line with project objectives.

Job Specific Accountabilities
Projects Planning & Cost Control
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, cost control, value assurance and scope management activities of projects to maintain projects excellence.
  • Ensure the provision of inputs for the development of execution strategies for projects to support in effective project management.
  • Review / challenge schedule and cost details submitted by Contractors & Consultants with regard to project changes to ensure minimum impact to the Company.
  • Ensure desired accuracy levels of project cost estimates and schedules and develop budgets reflecting project execution strategies set by the project team to verify their full viability, identify/predict any criticalities potentially impacting the achievement of project objectives and prepare early plans for possible solutions.
  • Review and advise on projects planning, monitoring and controls provisions of contractual documents prior to their finalization to ensure appropriate systems are in place for monitoring of PMC's and Contractors' activities during projects execution.
  • Review progress information from the project team, map actual vs. planned progress, identify variances and suggest appropriate corrective actions to ensure projects are executed within budget and schedule deadlines.
  • Ensure the provision of all necessary project execution/ planning details to the Project Accounting in order to allow accurate project cash planning and management and to establish a procedure for validation of progress certificates to ensure payments are properly managed.
  • Manage the maintenance of project planning and cost data for to ensure availability of relevant data.
  • Manage Projects reporting, including performance versus KPI's, to ensure constant update of top management as of progress versus projects objectives.
Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Professional certificate like PMP, PMI-SP is preferred.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

12 years of experience in the Planning & Cost Control function of a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector. 5-6 years in managerial capacity with hands on experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, budgeting and cost control functions
