Overview: Manager– Liabilities Sales in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is a senior banking opportunity focused on commercial banking liabilities, new‑to‑bank acquisition, sales force leadership, deposit account growth, FX revenue, zero balance account activation, customer onboarding, and compliance‑led sales management. The role supports First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) by leading a team responsible for acquiring NTB liabilities accounts, improving market share, increasing portfolio activity, and delivering growth, profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Commercial Banking liabilities sales force to achieve New To Bank acquisition, revenue, profitability, and customer growth objectives.
  • Manage a team responsible for attracting NTB liabilities accounts and expanding the bank's market share.
  • Define goals, KPIs, sales expectations, productivity targets, and performance indicators for each team member.
  • Support the team in achieving monthly and annual sales and revenue objectives across assigned products.
  • Manage distribution channels and ensure sales activity is aligned with the approved business plan.
  • Conduct regular huddles with Team Leaders and Sales Officers to review performance, priorities, pipeline, and market opportunities.
  • Maintain daily sales reports and conduct performance review meetings to track productivity, conversions, customer acquisition, and revenue movement.
  • Increase productivity and activity levels across sales teams through coaching, monitoring, and disciplined follow‑up.
  • Ensure cross‑selling opportunities are tracked and referred to relevant business divisions.
  • Focus on enhancing transaction activity on the liabilities book and improving account usage after onboarding.
  • Drive maximum activation of zero balance accounts through structured follow‑up and customer engagement.
  • Support growth in FX revenue from liability relationships and NTB clients.
  • Ensure recruitment, training, motivation, development, and retention of assigned sales staff.
  • Coach, counsel, motivate, and appraise sales personnel fairly while supporting their career aspirations.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on customer engagement, product positioning, documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to banking regulations, customer acceptance rules, data protection requirements, AML standards, KYC policies, and internal guidelines.
  • Monitor non‑compliant activities, potential money laundering risks, sanctions queries, and customer onboarding issues, escalating and coordinating remediation where required.
  • Ensure complete and comprehensive KYC for all accounts onboarded by the team.
  • Monitor client onboarding quality, customer due diligence, documentation completeness, and deferral management.
  • Cooperate with internal audit, risk management, compliance, customer service groups, and processing units to resolve gaps and maintain service standards.
  • Respond to audit, compliance, sanctions, and risk‑related queries within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor performance of clients onboarded by team members and ensure portfolio quality remains within acceptable standards.
  • Randomly contact clients to verify service quality, product understanding, and accuracy of information provided by the sales team.
  • Resolve or elevate customer complaints and redress issues to ensure timely closure.
  • Keep close watch on market developments, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and product improvement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, branches, processing teams, and support units.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure applications are processed within prescribed turnaround times.
  • Recommend changes and improvements to FAB products, processes, and customer acquisition practices.
  • Manage business complexities created by market competition while protecting compliance, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Ideal Profile
  • University degree is required.
  • MBA, PGDM, sales diploma, or professional sales certification is preferred.
  • 10-12 years of experience in a Commercial Banking acquisition team.
  • Strong experience leading sales teams focused on liabilities, New To Bank acquisition, commercial banking clients, or deposit account growth.
  • Good understanding of banking products, commercial banking liabilities, customer onboarding, FX revenue opportunities, and cross‑selling.
  • Familiarity with banking industry rules, regulations, KYC, AML, sanctions, customer due diligence, data protection, audit, and risk requirements.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to review sales performance, market trends, productivity, and customer quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage teams, channels, reporting, targets, and internal coordination.
