About the role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and fault rectification of electrical systems across multiple commercial, leisure and residential facilities, including LV distribution boards, panels, lighting and small power, motors and control circuits, and supporting ELV installations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance on LV distribution boards, panels, circuit breakers, lighting, small power, motors and control circuits in line with the PPM schedule.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, replace defective components and restore service with minimum disruption to site operations.
- Perform routine inspection and testing: insulation resistance, earth continuity, RCD/ELCB function, thermal checks on panels and terminations.
- Support ELV systems including fire alarm, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control and BMS interfaces.
- Carry out safe isolation and lock-out/tag-out procedures for all works on live systems.
- Identify and report equipment faults, overheating, load imbalances and safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, job cards and asset records, and support monthly preventive-maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with the FM supervisor on planned shutdowns, generator testing, and spares and consumables reordering.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience as a maintenance electrician (facilities management or building services preferred).
- Valid electrician certification issued by a recognised UAE authority — TAQA Distribution (formerly ADDC/AADC), ADQCC, DEWA or equivalent.
- ITI / Diploma / Trade Certificate in Electrical.
- Practical knowledge of LV distribution systems, panel wiring, motor starters and control circuits.
- Familiar with the Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations and UAE electrical safety standards.
- Comfortable working at height and in plant rooms; following all PPE/HSE protocols.
- Physically fit; able to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Basic English communication (Arabic an advantage).
- Valid UAE residency or willing to relocate (visa sponsorship available).
Preferred
- Prior experience servicing high-profile, multi-building or leisure facilities.
- Experience with ELV systems, fire alarm panels or BMS-monitored plant rooms.
- Working knowledge of generators, ATS panels and UPS systems.
- UAE driving licence.
