Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort invites applications for a Housekeeping Intern to support daily operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness standards while learning hotel routines.

You'll assist in room preparation, cart stocking, and coordination with other departments, while gaining hands-on experience in hospitality. This internship offers exposure to a luxury five-star environment and opportunities to develop communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree program in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Previous experience/On job training in a similar position.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for cleanliness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills to complete assignments, checklists, and routine tasks.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, and move around the facility as required.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in the daily cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities.
• Prepare rooms for guest check-in, including making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and restocking amenities.
• Assist in turnover of guest rooms ensuring cleanliness standards before check-ins.
• Assist in stocking and organizing housekeeping carts with necessary supplies and materials.
• Participate in daily team briefings to understand the workflow and any special tasks for the day.
• Learn the importance of timely guest service by responding to housekeeping requests and delivering extra amenities as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments such as maintenance and front desk to address guest concerns and requests.
• Learn to follow safety and health guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
