Role: Logistics Manager GCC & Africa (Pulses)

Job Purpose
The Logistics Manager GCC & Africa (Pulses) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing logistics operations to ensure the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods. The role involves managing cross-border trade execution across multiple regions, including shipping documentation and contract execution, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The incumbent will oversee logistics operations from raw material import to final shipment from processing plants across GCC and Africa, optimizing the supply chain for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Logistics Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to support overall supply chain objectives.
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and warehouses to ensure smooth cargo flow.
Transportation & Distribution Management
- Negotiate and manage contracts with freight forwarders, transport companies, and courier services.
- Monitor fleet and transport performance, optimizing routes and schedules to reduce costs and delays.
- Oversee customs clearance processes and ensure compliance with import / export regulations.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory control through regular stock checks and audits.
- Implement best practices in storage, packaging, and handling to minimize damage and loss.
Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
- Analyze logistics expenses and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Implement automation and technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate shipping, customs, and inventory records.
- Stay updated on changes in trade laws, transportation regulations, and market trends.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team to achieve performance targets.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and production teams to align supply chain activities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for team development.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in logistics / supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing logistics networks across multiple geographies, including GCC, Africa, and international markets.
- Strong knowledge and experience in handling bulk shipments.
- Solid understanding of commerce and logistics regulations, freight, and cost structures internationally.
- Proficiency in ERP and logistics management software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
