Qualifications

  • GCAA dispatch license and at least one year of experience exercising its privileges.
  • ICAO dispatch license recognized by the GCAA with a license verification letter and at least three years of documented experience.
  • At least five years' documented experience as a dispatcher for a major airline without a flight dispatch license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure selection of take-off, destination, enroute, and alternate airports.
  • Calculate take-off and landing performance and regulated weights for each Emirates flight.

Overview

As a Licensed Flight Dispatcher with Emirates, you will be responsible for exercising operational control and supervision of Emirates flights in accordance with GCAA regulations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will also serve as a critical link between flight crews, ground operations, and third-party service providers to support efficient and coordinated flight operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and determine routes and flight altitudes for each Emirates flight based on economical factors (including Overflight Permission charges), meteorological, safety, legal, and compliance considerations; analyze and negotiate Route Preferences with relevant ATC organizations; calculate and manage fuel requirements per safety standards.
  • Ensure selection of take-off, destination, enroute, fuel, and Extended Twin Operations (ETOPS) alternate airports per legal and company requirements; conduct ETOPS diversion and ETP strategy analyses per air law and company requirements.
  • Calculate take-off and landing performance and regulated weights for each Emirates flight; liaise with Ops Control, EK Skycargo and load control regarding payload implications and performance penalties due to meteorological or technical reasons; optimize commercial payload within legal parameters by adjusting route, speed, and altitude.
  • Collate and sign the Flight Release per legal and company requirements; prepare and file ATC flight plan and ensure briefing documentation is provided to the operating crew on time for briefing at Dubai and outstations.
  • Manage and avoid potential delays by negotiating airport and airway slots with respective government agencies worldwide.
  • Monitor flights until safe touchdown and ensure ongoing safety within a weather, technical, airport availability, traffic, and security envelope.
  • If a flight is at risk of deviating from the safe envelope, develop an alternative plan of action and communicate with air traffic control, engineering, station staff and flight crew to recover the situation; support flight crew during decision making or troubleshooting processes.
  • Support Dispatch Duty Manager during disruption events.
  • Periodically perform quality checks on General Handling Agent (GHA) briefing and dispatch services at outstations as part of Route Familiarization Flights.
Qualifications & Experience
  • GCAA dispatch license and at least one year of experience exercising its privileges; or
  • ICAO dispatch license recognised by the GCAA with a license verification letter and at least three years of documented experience; or
  • At least five years' documented experience as a dispatcher for a major airline (if no flight dispatch license exists or is required in the particular state, e.g., EASA region).
  • Proficiency in computerized Flight Planning
  • Proficiency in computerized Flight Watch
