Job summary

BrightConnect is hiring a Library Assistant for a prestigious library in El-Ain. You will assist the Librarian in managing and organizing the collection, provide excellent customer service, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

This is a contract position with a monthly salary of 1,600 USD. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and effective patron support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in a library or customer service setting is desirable.
• Proficient in English; Malayalee and Nepali speakers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the library's collection by shelving books and materials according to classification systems.
• Check out materials to patrons using library software system.
• Answer reference questions from patrons in person or over the phone.
• Maintain neatness and organization of shelves, tables, and other areas within the library.
• Assist patrons with finding materials or using equipment such as computers or copiers.
• Process new materials by labeling, cataloging, and adding them to the library's collection.
• Assist with planning and promoting library events or programs.
• Collaborate with other staff members on special projects or tasks as needed.
