Job summary

Woopel in Dubai is seeking a Librarian to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be organized, have excellent communication skills, and a passion for books and library sciences.

This position offers an international work environment and opportunities to engage with our diverse patron base. Responsibilities include cataloging, assisting patrons, updating the online catalog, and planning programs for all ages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Sciences or related field.
• Experience working in a library setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills, including library software such as Evergreen or Sierra.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the library’s collection of books and other materials, including cataloging, organizing, and shelving books according to established procedures.
• Assisting patrons with locating materials or using library resources such as computers, printers, scanners, etc.
• Answering reference questions by researching information sources online or in print.
• Updating the library’s online catalog regularly with new items.
• Planning programs such as book clubs or workshops for patrons of all ages.
