Job summary

Woopel in Abu-Dhabi is seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience and a salary of 1700 AED per month. We are open to considering foreign candidates for this position.

The role involves managing resources, assisting patrons, and maintaining electronic databases, while developing events and displays to promote the library's collections. Strong communication and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a librarian is required.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage library resources through cataloguing, organizing and maintaining accurate records.
• Assist patrons with inquiries by locating books and other materials.
• Maintain the library’s electronic resources and databases.
• Develop library events such as book clubs and book readings to increase awareness of the library’s collections.
• Create displays to promote new materials or special collections.
• Train volunteers on library policies and procedures.
• Assist in the selection of new books, magazines, multimedia materials, etc.
