Job summary

Job Title: Librarian

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Salary: 1500 AED per month

We are looking for an experienced and competent Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library resources and providing library services to our customers.

The main responsibilities of the Librarian include:

• Planning, organizing and coordinating library services
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures with regards to library operations
• Acquiring, cataloguing, classifying and shelving books, periodicals and other materials
• Providing reference assistance to patrons
• Developing instructional materials for use in the library
• Assisting patrons in using computers for searching the Internet or other online resources
• Developing educational programs related to library activities
• Maintaining accurate records of library materials
• Ensuring a safe environment within the library

The ideal candidate must have a degree in Library Science or related field. A minimum of two years of experience as a librarian is also required. The candidate must also be familiar with current trends in libraries, have excellent communication skills, be organized, have excellent computer skills, and an ability to work independently. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable but not essential. We are willing to consider foreign applicants for this position. We offer a salary of 1500 AED per month.
