JobCenter in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a Librarian (Indian Nationals Only) to join our library team. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and a passion for books.

You will manage circulation, cataloging, and patron assistance while supporting curriculum needs and information literacy. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Library Science with at least two years of library experience, and can work collaboratively or independently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our library team in Sharjah, UAE. The ideal candidate will be an Indian national with a passion for books and knowledge, and a strong understanding of library operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the organization, maintenance, and circulation of library materials
• Ensure accurate cataloging and labeling of all library items
• Assist patrons with reference inquiries and information searches
• Plan and execute library programs and events to promote literacy and learning
• Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum needs and integrate library resources into classroom instruction
• Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers
• Develop and maintain relationships with publishers, vendors, and other libraries for resource sharing opportunities
• Stay updated on current trends in librarianship and implement new technologies or initiatives to improve services

Requirements

• Indian nationality is a strict requirement for this role
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
• Knowledge of cataloging systems, classification systems, reference tools, and information search techniques
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs and basic computer skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
