JobLeader in Abu-Dhabi is seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will manage the library and its activities, ensuring accurate records and helpful service to patrons.

This vacancy welcomes immigrant candidates; salary is 1100 AED per month. Requirements include a high school diploma, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong organizational and communication skills in English and Arabic.

Qualifications

• At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Solid knowledge of library procedures and services.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• A minimum of one year's relevant work experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain library collections, including books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and other materials.
• Ensure the accuracy of library records and catalogs.
• Assist patrons with locating materials necessary for research or leisure purposes.
• Answer patron inquiries about library services, rules, and regulations.
• Create new acquisitions lists for the library’s collections.
• Manage collection maintenance activities such as weeding outdated materials from the collection and ordering new materials as needed.
• Plan special events such as book fairs, author visits, story times, etc.
