Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lending Manager to oversee and manage all lending operations within our organization. The Lending Manager will be responsible for managing the credit team, developing lending strategies, evaluating loan applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving loan portfolio growth while minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the lending department.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure sound lending practices.
- Review and assess loan applications and creditworthiness of applicants (individuals, businesses, or institutions).
- Approve or reject loans based on assessment and in accordance with lending limits.
- Monitor the performance of existing loan portfolios, identifying risk areas and recommending actions.
- Lead, train, and manage the lending team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive lending product growth.
- Provide reports and insights to senior management on loan portfolio performance and risks.
- Handle escalations related to credit decisions and delinquent accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or professional certification like CFA/CPA preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in lending, credit analysis, or financial services, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of credit policies, risk assessment, and loan origination processes.
- Knowledge of local and international financial regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in lending software, credit scoring systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in consumer, SME, or commercial lending.
- Familiarity with fintech lending platforms (if applicable).
