Job Description

Parsons is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel – Insurance & Contract Risk Management to join our team in UAE or Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and contract risk management, with experience in international law firms or in‑house roles for multinational companies. This role will focus on managing insurable risk, advising on insurance‑related legal matters, reviewing tenders and advising on legal and contractual risks, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and project‑specific insurance policies, including property, liability, professional liability, and specialized coverages.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on insurance‑related legal issues, regulatory matters, and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop tailored insurance solutions for project and organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international insurance regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • Lead development of downstream insurance specifications for subcontracts and procurement operations.
  • Review and analyze tender documents to identify legal and contractual risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with commercial, procurement, and project teams to structure contracts that balance business objectives with risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate and draft complex contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including insurance providers, brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and provide proactive guidance.
  • Ad‑hoc legal counsel support, as and when may be required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Law degree from a recognized university; admission to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 7 years of post‑qualification experience, including roles in international law firms or in‑house for multinational companies.
  • Proven expertise in insurance law, contract negotiation and contract risk management.
  • Familiarity with insurance markets and regulatory environments in the GCC.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience in the engineering or construction sector is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required.
