ADNOC Group (Al Dhafra Petroleum and Al Yasat Petroleum) in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal, governance, and compliance support across onshore assets. You will assist the General Counsel in managing legal risk, advising on commercial matters and contracts, and ensuring alignment with UAE laws.

Requirements include a Law degree, Common Law qualification with Practicing Certificate, formal training, and at least 5 years in petroleum or industrial

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
  • Common Law qualification with valid Practicing Certificate.
  • Formal legal training from a reputable law firm.
  • Minimum 5 years of legal experience in petroleum or industrial sectors in the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles, projects and construction contracts, UAE laws, and international standards.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including EPC agreements and other commercial agreements.
  • Provide legal opinions and risk assessments on corporate transactions and concessions.
  • Advise on claims and disputes, liaising with external counsel and experts.
  • Assist in board secretarial support: organize meetings, draft minutes, support governance.
  • Support ethics, compliance programs, and internal audits.

  • Advise on claims and disputes, including high-value and complex EPC matters, liaising with external counsel and claims consultants.
  • Assist in board secretarial support, including organizing board meetings, drafting minutes, and ensuring adherence to governance frameworks.
  • Support ethics, compliance programs, and internal audits.
