Job summary

KBR is seeking a Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer for offshore island projects. You will lead design, selection and technical management of rotating equipment from FEED through commissioning, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes.

You will coordinate with multiple engineering teams and contribute to HAZID/HAZOP reviews. Preferred candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with 18–20 years in relevant sectors, and 5+ years in a lead role, with ADNOC Offshore

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with extensive Oil & Gas experience.
• 18–20 years in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, or Offshore EPC projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a Lead Rotating Engineer role.
• Proven FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC and Brownfield project experience.
• Extensive ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy exposure.

Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer – Offshore Island Project

Job Purpose

The Lead Rotating Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering, design, selection, procurement, and technical management of rotating equipment for ADNOC Offshore projects. The role ensures that all rotating equipment complies with ADNOC standards, international codes, project requirements, and reliability objectives throughout the project lifecycle from FEED to commissioning and start-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering activities related to rotating equipment for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of: Equipment datasheets Technical specifications Material requisitions Technical bid evaluations Vendor drawings and documents.
• Manage the design and selection of: Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors Gas turbines Steam turbines Pumps Blowers and fans Diesel engines Generators Package equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes such as API, ISO, ASME, and IEC.
• Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and Procurement teams.
• Review vendor proposals and conduct technical clarification meetings.
• Support procurement, inspection, testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Design Reviews, and Constructability Reviews.
• Resolve technical issues, engineering deviations, and site queries during project execution.
• Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely delivery of rotating equipment packages.
• Mentor and guide rotating equipment engineers and project team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Professional Engineering certification is preferred.
• Experience Minimum 18–20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, or Offshore EPC projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead Rotating Engineer role.
• Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects.
• Extensive experience working on ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or other major Middle East energy projects.
• Experience with offshore platforms, gas compression stations, processing facilities, and offshore production complexes is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in rotating equipment design, selection, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of: API 610 (Centrifugal Pumps) API 617 (Compressors) API 618 (Reciprocating Compressors) API 612 (Steam Turbines) API 616 (Gas Turbines) API 614 (Lubrication Systems) API 670 (Machinery Protection Systems).
• Equipment performance analysis and reliability engineering.
• Vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
• Mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication systems, and auxiliary packages.
• Vendor package management and technical bid evaluation.
• Familiarity with ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications.
• Commissioning and start-up support for rotating equipment.

• Hands-on involvement in commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting of critical rotating equipment.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and vendor packages in offshore environments.
