Job summary

Worley requires an experienced Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineer in Abu Dhabi to champion safety, oversee issue resolution, and approve contractor deliverables across FEED and EPC phases for oil, gas, or petrochemical projects.

You will lead a team of specialists and engineers, ensuring design compliance with owner requirements, and coordinate with owners, licensors, and vendors to optimize equipment design and project outcomes within a high-visibility environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 15+ years of relevant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers.
  • Experience in Offshore projects is required; PMC & ADNOC exposure preferred.
  • Experience in FEED/EPC phases is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Champion the Project Safety culture behaviors and engagement activities.
  • Identifying evaluating and resolving Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineering issues.
  • Review and approve within the specified approval durations the Contractor key deliverables and other works within the Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) discipline ensuring compliance with Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) design requirements and the Licensors PDPs which involves the interpretation and review of calculations specifications plans investigations surveys structures system or equipment with relatively few complex features.
  • Review and approve the following Contractors deliverables:
    • Equipment design and development.
    • System design including concept sketches and layouts.
    • Testing of materials.
    • Specifications and design calculations.
    • Designs drawings and data by other Contractors or by Vendors.
    • Engineering studies and reports.
    • Material Requisitions for equipment & materials
    • Material quantity estimates.
  • Review and approve key design documents from Vendors equipment manufacturers or Subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendations incorporating any comments received from the Owner.
  • Attend technical meeting with Owner Licensor Contractor and Vendors.
  • Attend all Project technical sessions by the Contractor such as: Design Review Meetings 3D Model Review Meeting Constructability SIL EIA HAZOP and HAZID etc.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Contractors Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineering design activities system integration and design selection.
  • Supervise and manage the review and approval of Contractors work ensuring compliance with Owner and Project specifications relevant codes and standards and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate the required Engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to ensure design optimization and validation for the Owner.
  • Coordinate the technical guidance required to develop new specifications and update existing specifications in line with Owner requirements.
  • Coordinate other discipline Engineers participation in layout reviews design reviews and technical workshops.
  • Influence Facilities and Equipment design optimization.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline Engineers.
  • Coordinate technical reviews and analysis during vendor prequalification bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate the review of technical bid submissions and perform technical bid analysis
Qualifications:
  • A bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists Senior Engineers and Engineers.
  • Offshore project experience is required.
  • PMC & ADNOC experiences are preferrable.
  • Experience in FEED/ EPC Phases is required.
