Job summary

مجموعة الطاير seeks a Post Contract Commercial Lead to oversee large value projects and supervise the junior commercial team. The role focuses on post-contract QS activities, variations, claims, and cost control, ensuring timely valuations and smooth subcontractor interactions.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in post-contract QS, strong negotiation skills, and local market knowledge. This position is based in the UAE and requires a solid understanding of contracting practices.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in post-contract quantity surveying.
• Graduate in construction discipline required.
• Knowledge of local market is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess tender BOQ versus IFC information to update BOQ accordingly.
• Float enquiries to obtain final offers and adjudicate quotations.
• Prepare sub-contract and purchase orders, including drawings, programme, and BOQ.
• Manage variations and claims with sub-contractors and clients.
• Prepare monthly project valuations and ensure timely submission to the employer.
• Review and issue monthly payment certificates to sub-contractors.
• Draft contractual notices and handle post-contract administration.
• Contribute to cost reporting and budget forecasting with the project team.

Post Contract Commercial Lead for larger value projects which include the management of junior commercial team.

Responsibilities

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

• Assessment of the tender BOQ (Bill Of Quantities) vs the IFC (Issued For Construction) information received to update the BOQ accordingly.
• Float enquiries for obtaining final offers from supply chain and adjudicate updated quotations received.
• Prepare sub-contract orders and purchase orders; including drawings, Programme & BOQ’s.
• Detect Variations and Changes to the Contract in liaison with the Project team.
• Prepare, Negotiate and Conclude Variations and Claims with Sub Contractors and Clients’.
• Prepare monthly project valuation and to ensure timely submittal to the employer
• Procure all necessary insurances and bonds for the project.
• Review and issue monthly payment certificates to subcontractors based upon the progress of works at site.
• General Contract administration including the drafting of contractual notices, such as notice of delay, variations & claims.
• Identify, collate, review, and submit variations to the Employer.
• Preparation of claims for extensions of time in the event of project delays including maintaining sufficient contemporary records.
• Undertake monthly cost reporting in collaboration with the project manager inclusive of all necessary budget forecasts.
• Prepare and conclude the subcontract and Employer final accounts upon project completion.
• Conclude all commercial matters that may arise during the defects liability period (DLP) ; including defects rectification, return of bonds & final retention releases.
• Ability to assist in the estimation of potential projects in the event the estimation department is at full capacity.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles

Education/Certification and Continued Education

• Graduate in construction discipline or equivalent.

Years of Experience

• 7 to 10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 7 year experience in post contract Quantity Surveying

Knowledge and Skills

• Local market knowledge would be an advantage
