Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking a Planning Engineer for its Oil & Gas Engineering Consultancy team in the UAE. You will develop, monitor, and control project schedules across Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, EPCM, and PMC phases, coordinating with Project Managers and discipline leads to meet milestones and budgets.

The role requires 5–12 years of planning experience in Oil & Gas or related sectors, with GCC/Middle East exposure preferred; Primavera P6 and MS Project skills are essential, PMP/Primavera

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Primavera P6 certification preferred.
• PMP certification is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Prepare Engineering Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), baselines, and execution schedules.
• Monitor progress against approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering Discipline Leads to obtain progress updates.
• Track engineering deliverables, status, and milestone achievements.
• Perform schedule analysis, critical path analysis, and delay assessments.
• Identify schedule risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-week, 4-week, and monthly).
• Monitor engineering productivity and resource utilization.
• Support Project Managers in forecasting manpower requirements.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports for management and clients.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, progress meetings, and planning workshops.
• Monitor engineering man-hours and compare actual versus planned performance.
• Assist in change management by evaluating schedule impacts of scope changes.
• Coordinate with document control to monitor engineering deliverables.
• Support proposal and tender activities by preparing preliminary schedules and manpower histograms.
• Ensure compliance with contractual milestones and client reporting requirements.
• Maintain project dashboards, S-curves, progress measurement systems, and KPI reports.
• Coordinate with Cost Engineers and Project Controls personnel for integrated planning and reporting.
• Ensure planning activities comply with company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
