Job summary

Penspen Ltd is seeking a Lead Commissioning (safety system) for offshore PMC projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will plan, coordinate, and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for process and utility systems, interfacing with engineering, construction, vendors, and offshore teams.

The ideal candidate has 15-18+ years in Oil & Gas commissioning with at least 5 years in a lead role, strong knowledge of offshore safety systems, and familiarity with API/ASME/IEC/ISO standards; ADNOC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 to 18+ years of experience in Oil & Gas commissioning.
• Lead role experience of 5+ years in commissioning projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute all pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for process and utility systems offshore.
• Develop system- and subsystem-wise commissioning execution plans.
• Prepare commissioning procedures, method statements, and checklists per project specs and standards.
• Review P&IDs, PFDs, cause & effect matrices, control narratives, and vendor documentation.
• Lead and supervise execution of pre‑commissioning activities: flushing, cleaning, leak testing, drying, calibration, checks.
• Coordinate commissioning of process systems (separation, gas treatment, water injection, produced water, flare, utilities).
• Act as primary interface between engineering, construction, vendors, and offshore commissioning teams.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project HSE standards.
• Lead a multidisciplinary commissioning team (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, utilities).

Qualification Required

• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for process and utility systems at the onshore yard or fabrication site prior to offshore installation
• Develop system‑wise and subsystem‑wise commissioning execution plans for process and utility systems.
• prepare commissioning procedures, method statements, and checklists in line with project specifications and international standards
• Review P&IDs, PFDs, cause & effect matrices, control narratives, and vendor documentation to define commissioning scope
• Lead and supervise execution of pre‑commissioning activities: flushing, cleaning, leak testing, drying, calibration, functional checks, and loop testing
• Coordinate commissioning of process systems (separation, gas treatment, water injection, produced water, flare, utilities, etc.)
• Act as the primary interface between engineering, construction, vendors, and offshore commissioning teams
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project HSE standards and safe work practices
• Lead a multidisciplinary commissioning team (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, utilities)

Experience Required:

• Minimum 15 TO 18+ years of experience in Oil & Gas commissioning, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process and utility safety systems.
• Familiarity with international standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO)
• PMC experience will be preferred
• Previous experience in the ADNOC projects in the similar role would be an added advantage
