Job summary

Core42 in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Lead Engineer - Infrastructure & Cloud to provide technical leadership for private cloud, virtualization, container, and observability platforms across Core42 infrastructure.

The role combines hands-on expertise with leadership, guiding platform strategy, architecture, and engineering standards for operational excellence while adopting AI-assisted operations and automation.

Qualifications

8+ years designing and leading large-scale private cloud, virtualization, or platform environments.
Deep hands-on expertise with major cloud/virtualization platforms (OpenStack, OpenShift, Proxmox).
Experience driving AI-assisted operations, automation, and observability integration.
Strong Linux, hardware, networking, and data center fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Lead design, architecture, and lifecycle management of private cloud and observability platforms.
Define engineering standards, governance, and operational best practices.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
Drive observability strategy including metrics, logs, dashboards, and SLOs/SLIs.
Champion automation via IaC, GitOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering.
Oversee upgrades, migrations, incidents, and reliability initiatives.
Collaborate with Architecture, Product, SRE, Security, and Operations teams.
