Role Summary

The purpose of the role is to carry out the transcription of terms included in Charterparty, Recap, Contracts within the company-provided software and carry out the Laytime/Demurrage calculation using the application supporting documentation for the relevant port call.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe terms from Charterparty, Recap, Contracts using company software.
  • Calculate laytime/demurrage using the supporting documentation for relevant port calls.
  • Take lead on customers’ claims portfolio.
  • Lead projects specific to their customer portfolio.
  • Analyse data accurately and provide suggestions & improvements.
  • Seek opportunities to maximise performance and personal development.

Qualifications
  • Graduation as specialised education; MBA in Shipping or an equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience with a shipping company (mainly handling Charter-parties, vessel operations or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years experience in laytime/demurrage, preferably within the oil industry (preferably doing laytime for a vessel owner).
  • Good knowledge of written & spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail & quality with ability to deliver consistently.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others as a team.
  • Technology-savvy with regards to digital applications.
  • Proactive, able to provide suggestions & development.
  • Leadership and project management skills for customer portfolios.
  • Knowledge and understanding of terminology used in the petroleum industry and dry commodities businesses, marine and terminal operations.
