Job Responsibilities

The main responsibility of a Land Surveyor is to measure distances, angles, and other characteristics of land plots in order to accurately map them out. This includes researching legal documents and titles to ensure accuracy, collecting data from field measurements using specialized equipment such as levelers, total stations, GPS units, etc., preparing detailed reports about survey results for clients or for further analysis by engineers or architects, maintaining records of survey data/maps/reports for future reference, as well as other duties as assigned.
